Meh. The AEV lifts are way over-hyped and over-priced. If you're not doing much off-roading you'll be fine.
I've had outstanding performance from the AEV lift on my JKUR, both on and off road. Never an issue. Not sure what the overhype is, but mine has performed exactly as I'd hoped while maintaining similar to stock road manners. I've had it on there for probably 80k miles or so.

There's nothing wrong with them, it's just that you can get more travel for less money from Metalcloak and Rock Krawler and also have excellent on-road performance.

I have mine at 30 front and 28 rear and I'm still not getting full contact patch. Granted I do have 12.5" wide tires on 7.5" wheels.

I will probably lower the psi some
Ya I have 9” wide wheel

My business partner has it on his jk, the geometry brackets they use hang low and catch on rocks and are prone to breakage... or so he says

Mine doesn't have those. Didn't need them. If I did, Rancho makes much stronger ones.

Yeah I would definitely destroy those.
Yup. Too low. I’m sure it’ll improve on-road driving, but now it’s a liability off-road.

For me I look for,
#1 On vehicle adjustability with NO jam nuts ! Personal choice for me I’ve never had any luck keeping them tight. End up having to double nut them and sometimes you don’t have the room.
#2 Stock style bushings with no maintenance and no noise.
All choices are heavy duty. I originally wanted to try the new TeraFlex but The feedback has been spotty I’ll reevaluate them next year. The synergy front puts the adjuster at the frame end. Clearance wise the factory bar and most aftermarket bars bends and get away from the differential. At this time final decision for me was steer smart yeti front and synergy rear. Next year when lifting my JT Gladiator will again look closely at a matching set of TeraFlex bars.

Total noob here when it comes to steering components. What would you guys/gals recommend for components to address the loose/wandering steering issue?

2018 JLU Sahara w/Rubicon OEM wheels w/33” BFG K02 tires. No suspension mods - other than Airlift airbags in the rear, that I air up when we load up for camping with roof top tent, etc. No plans for wheeling. Mainly mall crawler duty with occasional dirt roads/camping/commuting in NH snow storms, etc.

I’ve adjusted tire pressure, been to dealer, and they’ve re-torqued everything, applied firmware updates, and swapped steering stabilizer w/OEM. Firmware update brought the steering performance from a 3 to a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Re-torqueing, and placement of steering stabilizer made no noticeable difference. But when I test drove another 2018 Wrangler before buying mine, the steering was a solid 9, so I know I’m not just dealing with it being a “Jeep thing”.

Start with just a track bar? Which one for zero off-roading? Budget is a factor, but not the primary one...meaning, I’d spend $300 to $500 if I knew it would get my steering to an 8 or 9. But not interested in dropping $1,500 on steering upgrades for something that the manufacturer should have done.

Thanks!

I may not be expert on this, but I'd seriously look at a Falcon (Terra Flex) or Fox adjustable steering stabilizer. You can tighten those things down to where it feels good to you. The only issue might be that if you tighten it down enough, the wheel will stay pointed where you turned it when you let go instead of moving back toward center. Some might like that, though.

the steersmarts yeti is a great track bar. I originally planned to get one but I was worried about clearance issues with other changes I made that you wouldn’t have.

I am saying I hope it did, I have wondered since the front axle was an inch off, if it was causing odd aerodynamics, and if the tires were shaking and fighting the stabilizer if it caused the engine to work harder, also i had been running really low tire pressure to improve the ride, and i moved the tire pressure up from 32 to 42.. ride was good even with the higher pressure, hoping the combo of the 3 dynamics impacts fuel... I really have had no idea why my milage is 3-5 miles per gallon lower than what other guys with the similar setups report... the dealership looked at it 3 times, and told me it was how I was driving, but I was being obsessively conservative..
It was the tire pressure that changed your mileage. If you check your contact patch at both of those pressures, you'll see why.

Yeti TB does work with Mopar lift and Synergy TB/Sector Shaft brace if thats your concern. And no issues running a high mounted Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer either.
I put a Yeti Pro (poly bushed) on back in Sept/Oct. I have a whole pile of steering parts in the garage, including the Synergy TB/Sector Shaft Brace. I was wondering if you drove it before and after just the Synergy TB/Sector brace? If so, did you note a difference?

It was concern with my steering stabilizer relocated above the tie rod and the location of the big adjustment sleeve and pinch bolts on the yeti. I now have a synergy track bar and I am happy with it.

Track bar and then stabilizer. The steering stabilizer alone will only mask the problem. I have the yeti with the falcon adjustable on a. 3.5 RK lift and like it a lot. I went with the Yeti because you can adjust without disconnecting an end.
