EVO P/N - EVO-3142 with slider step plates.

Going through the process to prep these for Steel-It now. Gonna get them painted and then maybe weld them Sunday. Got some other work coming tonight and tomorrow, so hoping for Sunday.

The sliders ship just like you see them. No box. They don’t need a box though, of course. Super beefy and look fantastic.

Prep material - 80 grit, palm sander, and acetone.

Where do you purchase the "steel it" paint from ? Is it a trip to walley world or ???

Do you use primer with it ?

I have a trailer hitch skid plate I need to paint.
Did you get the TMR skid? It's been in my cart since they released it.

I purchased mine from a place in SC. You're not going to find it at Walmart. Best bet is to find a distributer online that will ship it to you.

No primer. Just prep the surface properly and you'll be good to go.

No bud, I got the AJK OFFROAD.
They are formally known as the Sheridan Hitch Skid made by WarFab Armor. They have taken over the production side of these. They offered two versions, one that is a little shorter on the underside to accommodate 37" spare tires.(This is the one I purchased, even if I didn't have 37's, I would probably gone with the shorter version, because I feel the extra length is not necessary, the short version protects the hitch the same as the full version). They offer powder coating for a cost, but I didn't see paying extra $$ for something that is likely going to be scratched up. I would rather find a nice paint (other than flat black bbq paint... ha ha) to give it a good look and allow me to do touch ups.

Designed and made in the USA. From placing my order, to receiving the package was only 2-3 days.

Outstanding finish! If you get a chance, try an angle grinder with a flapper disk instead of that palm sander.
I just want to get through the mill scale. Angle grinder takes off too much material.

Very nice.

The GenRight Roll Cage thread has more good pics on Steel-It if you want to check those out.

Thanks, just ordered a can off Amazon.. not cheap, but it seems to be a viable option to power coating that is able to be touched up at home.

Any spray / prep tips ?
Just use 80 grit. The material should look and feel like a matchbox strike strip. Then just follow the instructions on the can.
