Weld on slider to stock Rubi rails

Anyone welded on just some 2*2 metal stock to the stock Rubi rails?
Most looking for that extra 2 or 3 inches for step/little bit of extra rock protection.

I purchased some tubing then made up some steps and welded them on the factory rock sliders and used raptor liner on them
