If you are going to 33s I'd just grab some Rubicon/willys takeoffs.I watched this last night and it was VERY informative!
I don't know much about tires but am in the market, so this hit at just the right time!
It's my understanding that the Nitto Grapplers are a heavy tire, and from what I've read, not really popular on this forum. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
I've always been a KO2 girl, but I need something better on wet roads. Here in the South we get very little snowfall - mostly ice. Of course, I'd also like better MPG, if possible. Been driving nothing but Jeeps for 35 years so a super comfortable ride doesn't really matter much to me.
I've got my eye on the Falken Wild Peak AT. Please excuse me if I don't have the name exactly right!
I have several tire threads bookmarked but after seeing this video, I'm hoping to glean more information from you all.
If anyone wants to give me some advice, I'm looking for a tire that's good on wet roads, some wheeling (mostly moderate mud trails or country gravel roads), with an aggressive look and not too heavy. Based on this video, the pizza cutter or maybe next size wider.
I am looking to go up one size (to 33's I think?) from the stock Sahara BF Goodrich AT tire. ('21 JLU e-torque)
I know nothing about ply# or tire load so I know I definitely need to learn more about that.
I know there are a zillion threads about tires, many I have bookmarked. So no worries if I get no replies. I realize that some things you just get tired of rehashing!

I like my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I don’t recall weight being abnormal for their size. They are reasonably quiet on the highway and aggressive for an AT. I’ve driven twice to Moab and back ~1k miles each way and they got me through the Rubicon. They seem to have much better grip than the tires that came stock on the JLUR.I watched this last night and it was VERY informative!

I love the look of the Nitto Grapplers. They are still in the back of my mind. I need to research how they perform on wet roads.I like my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Thank you so much for this info on the wild peaks! My husband has very large MT BB MT's on his Jeep but his rig isn't built like mine so I feel like I'm comparing apples to oranges.I’ll second MT BB ATs I also run the pizza cutter 255/85/17 on stock sport wheels. @SmokyMtnsJeepGirl My experience with the wild peak ATs is that they’re not very good on wet roads. Here in the PNW we’re no stranger to rain 10 months out of the year and the folks I knew who ran them on road and off always complained about wet weather and snow traction. For a 3PMSF rated tire they seem to have issues. I went on a snow wheeling trip with 5 vehicles and 4 or them had MTs and the one guy had the wild peak ATs he was the only one to get stuck multiple times and had the most “capable built” rig of the bunch. He’s a great driver but just couldn’t find the traction with those tires. Now I had some wild peak MTs and boy those were some great tires. Great wet, snow and ice traction. We had that serious freeze here in Washington in January of 2024 and I did some messing around with speed and stopping distance the day before school opened back up so I knew exactly how they’d perform with my children in the car and they were phenomenal! My choices when selecting a tire a few months ago were between the MT BB AT and wildpeak MT. There wasn’t enough info out about the wildpeak at4w yet to justify that purchase. But they are a big contender to the MT BB AT from the info I’ve found. My wife has 33” KO3s on her Escalade and they aren’t bad. I wouldn’t buy them again because they’re loud and fling rocks like crazy. The Escalade is frequently on gravel roads so that’s an issue for us. But wet snow ice they’re great. I just can’t stand how loud they are and the gravel being ejected.
