Am I the only one that won't buy parts if they have zerk fittings that need to be greased?
Add that to my pet peeves about aftermarket shit. I don't want grease fittings on a vehicle that came with none just like I don't want random SAE hardware on a metric vehicle.

I’m with you on both of those. So many first world problems though, I gotta choose my battles.

I see this is an old thread that has been revived twice but my favorite mod to any grease gun is a LockNLube coupler. It locks onto the zerk so all the grease goes in vs squirting out from around the zerk.

I like the Lincoln 1134 Pistol Grip Grease Gun. A pistol grip gun is easier to use than one with a long lever. It only needs one hand. I suppose a clogged/stuck zerk or a bushing full of hard dried up grease might need the force of a long lever gun but that is a rare case for me and I have one around for that.
Thanks I’m going to try that coupler, just because.

@roaniecowpony @chevymitchell @grimmjeeper @Roky etc. I see aftermarket 1310 and 1350 driveshafts have a flat zerk recessed on the pin. What needle fitting works well. Snapon$$$, Matco$, or? I’m all for buying good tools and dont generally buy Snapon unless I need to but definitely not cheap junk. Thanks

To be honest, I don’t even know what brand I have, lol… I just grabbed one at the parts house, it’s not something I have a preference on… they all work…. That said, I probably have a Snapon in the box, only because my buddy has a franchise, lol..

I use generic parts store stuff. Some of it breaks early and I go buy another one from a different parts store. Eventually I find one that doesn't break and then I forget where I got it.

I was hoping y’all had better memories than I do. 🤓 I think I’m leaning toward Matco unless someone else has some wisdom to impart.

Recently, I bought a couple Loc-n-Lube grease gun couplings and a rubber tipped accessory from the same company. I tried to use the rubber tipped accessory on my Reid Racing knuckle grease fittings. It was laughable. I dug out an old cheap solid steel needle from the rack at a local parts store that I simply pressed hard against the grease fittings and it seemed to work well enough.

Sounds like a classic case of overthinking on my part

I use a Lincoln 5803 needle nozzle for the double cardan joint on on my Ram.
