When did push mowers become $300? Was thinking about getting a new one and went to look them up and was pretty shocked. I think the one we have was like $150 when we purchased it. I mean its been 10 years but still.

It cost less money to re-engine than to buy a new one. Take your old one take the motor off go to harbor freight get you one of those predator motors drop it on your old deck with a new blade and call it good.

I dig what you're saying. To be fair, though, my neighbor's new Ego mower (which has small LED "headlights") is so bloody quiet that I wouldn't be bothered if he was running it after sundown. He hasn't, and likely won't, but the decibel difference between a gas Briggs or Honda and the electrics is considerable. All I can hear when his mower is running is the whoosh of the blades. Granted, the new electric riding mowers would probably be a bit louder as a consequence of their size, as well as the necessary muti-blade configurations.

As for pricing, yes, the electric mowers make even the pricier gas versions look like bargains.

There is nothing wrong with mine. Had they still been around $150, I would have gotten a new one and given this one to our neighbors. Her husband just passed and he borrowed ours here and there. I was just thinking of doing something uncharacteristic, being nice lol. But shit I aint paying $300 to get a new one just to be nice. I dont want a new one THAT bad ROFL.
