Wrangler Boot bag needed?

I’ve had my 2018 wrangler JL since it rolled off the line. I’ve also had the factory soft top for all these year. However, I recently replaced the soft top with an OEM premium top. The new top came with something the seller called a boot bag. I didn’t have this for my last top and would always drop the top and just go. So my question is should the top be rolled up into this “boot bag” every time I drop it back?
Maybe I’ve been doing it wrong all of these years. Attached is a photo of what I’m talking about. (Not my Jeep just a stock photo)

That's an aftermarket bag from JTopsUSA. Doesn't come with the stock one.

Just makes it look cleaner. I have the premium top and never used the bag in 60k miles. Don't want to have to take the extra time to get the top up in case of a pop up shower.

only use stock one to store, otherwise, top is folded back to get dusty.

The only "boot bag" my JL OEM premium top came with was the cheap shipping vinyl that it came in. I suppose you could use it with the top down, but it's probably not designed for that, nor do the installation instructions show it being used that way. I kept it to store the top in the winter.

I got two 3 foot by 2 inch velcro straps that I put around the top when it's down to keep it lower so I can see better out of the rearview mirror.

I have dual top, the cheap "bag" that came with the factory top I use only for storage. Wrap it up and hang it from the rafters in the winter. The one you show is not a factory bag, it looks far nicer. It's purely your choice, but not necessary.

i always just dropped the top on my now-sold '03 TJ and intend on doing the same on our '23 JL.
