Quick question if anyone can help. I attempted to use a Procal Snap from AEV, while using it I got an engine light and the screen said to use the key fob to start the vehicle. Now the jeep won't start and the brake pedal seems to be locked down. Any ideas????

It's common to get engine lights while re-flashing/re-programming. The other module get angry when they lose contact with the module being flashed. Normally after a reflash the device clears all those stored codes, but maybe it didn't. Or maybe something went wrong.

Brake pedal can be really tough to push when the engine isn't running if the assist has blead down. Push really hard on the brake pedal and use the fob to push the start button.

If your vehicle has remote start try to remote start it. If it starts, that will also re-energize the assist for the brake pedal.

I don't have remote start. I figured it must be a computer problem because it all happened at the same time. Just don't know how to 'reset" everything.

I'll try to push the pedal harder.

What happens when you push the start button? Does it go into accessory mode on the first push then run mode on the second push? Does the dash say "push the brake pedal"?

It goes to Acc and then run on the first and second push. Yes, the dash says push the brake pedal and the start button.

could it be because I can't depress the brake pedal like Normal? It feels like its stuck "down"

It sure sounds like it does not recognize the brake being pressed.

I found another thread that says just push REALLY hard on the pedal and it should work

So I got back in the jeep its been about 2 hours now and the brake pedal "fixed" itself and the jeep started normally. I tried it a few times to make sure. Definitely weird, thanks to all who helped. Much Appreciated!

@Ian4351

Just saw/read your post. DO, check the Procal Snap connections....

AEV is a very decent company but the Procal Snap is crapola ... is to be avoided... Big issue is with the connector pins that the Snap installs with ... with them coming loose/breaking etc... Nothing but issues with the Snap for many that opted to install one.

I'd bail on that Procal Snap.. Just leave the Procal Harness PN 30301046 in place.... don't try to remove it.. Just leave it in place. It won't hurt anything sitting there unused/abandoned.

Consider using JSCAN for your programming needs which seem to be minimal.... since you were trying to do the deed with a Procal Snap.

Thanks, I got the AEV lift installed and the procal came with the kit. The shop told me to come back in if I ever want to recalibrate. Which I found weird because the instructions seemed really straight forward to do it myself. Unfortunately this all happened. It has to be related to the Snap! Disappointing. Even called AEV customer service and they had no idea what the issue was.

If your brake pedal was stuck _down_ I'd be very concerned that you didn't have an issue with your brake lines or something.
