Wiring Help. Under drivers seat.

Hello,
When removing the drivers seat, there are 2 harnesses. One is black with several wires, the other is yellow with 2 wires. The end of the yellow one snagged on the seat frame when pulling the seat for painting the new seat mounts (went fine the first 2 times, caught and pulled the yellow clip from the vehicle mounted portion on the 3rd time).

Any idea what the pair of wires is for? I suspect as the connector is yellow, it may be safety device related. I would just like to know before I repair it.

@bigfoot21075; not 100% positive, but pretty sure that would be the wiring to the side airbags...as you pointed out in your post, a lot of the safety related wiring connectors are yellow.

I went to the marine supply store this evening and picked up some marine grade sealed 2 pin connectors and will splice one of those in to replace the one I so conveniently destroyed.
The wire looks to be 18 gauge, even though the inside of my Jeep will never be filled with water, I figured since Jeep took the care to use heavy duty water proof connectors I might as well use them too. mine just won't be yellow. minor set back.

Not sure how it would, it is just a connector and noting else, there is no fuse or anything in the connector. I measured the resistance there is nothing special there. We shall see!

I work in the auto repair industry. I have found most of the SRS ( supplemental restraint system) connectors have a shorting bar in them so that if they are unplugged, the SRS module knows that. Also the module reads the resistance on the circuit and if it finds it wrong, will trip a code and most likely the airbag lamp. FYI.

THANKS! I appreciate it. That could be an issue, but there is nothing I can do about it now. If it causes problems later, I can always take the seat back out and get the section I need from the junk yard I suppose. The dealer could not tell me what I needed.

The system has parameters that must be correct... Measured in Mv ( millivolts)
The connector will definitely cause an issue.. Will be very surprised if it doesn't.

THANKS.... when you measure the connector from end to end it just looks like a straight connector. One of the wires coming from the floor has a small voltage on it.

I have been hoping someone in the know would chime in with knowledge of this connector (is it just a straight up water tight connector or is there more to it than that), but that does not appear to be the case here. One dealer parts guy thinks he may have found it, but he is "not sure" and won't know until it arrives tomorrow. I tried local junk yards, but none of them have a JL.
