Windshield Wiper Problem in JLU Sahara

I thought I heard in one of the Wrangler presentation videos that they couldn’t offer this feature because of the folding windshield, so is it actually a feature ?

With any luck this will trigger a whole new round of complaints to Jeep dealers - "Hey, besides not having the offroad pages I just discovered my rain sensing wipers don't work! What the hell, man?"

Status update. Dealership said it was the steering wheel module, which was ordered and will be replaced and installed next week.

If you've got auto rain sensing wipers, you could try going into the Uconnect and toggling that feature off. Likely not the problem, because the switch should over ride that, but at least its out of the equation.

My understanding is that the JLU does not have rain sensing wipers. They couldnt add due to tje ability to lower the windshield.

Update: Steering control column module was replaced. Scanned code was DTC#B2225-00.

Note: When the wipers won't turn off, the cruise control and rear wiper is non-functional.
Note: Problem starts after driving continuously for longer than 30 minutes.

Hope this helps anyone that comes across this problem.

Ah, bad TJ memories here - every repair takes at least two trips, one to diagnose and order the part, one to install.

Had something similar. Passenger wiper stopped after like 1+ hour of driving. Stopped and it was free moving.

::backstory:: purchased JLUS from Showroom and the windshield was down.

::present day:: Clowns at the dealership didn’t tighten the wiper nut all the way when putting windshield back up. Easy fix.

Made a video because... WHY NOT!!

so they havent cured the electrical glitches jeeps are renouned for that will only hurt sales here in aus where everyone loves toyota & doesnt trust jeep sorry to hear it i was hoping they had made an effort

I think you are right about the “electrical glitches” I’ve had 3 Tacoma’s now with no problems. My 1st gen that I still kept has over 300k on it. Original motor. I’m kinda second guessing trading in my 3rd gen taco for these JL’s.

On the bright side I will still have my 1st gen if the JL breaks down.
