Just wondering what the life expectancy of the Jeep Windshield wiper motors are?
Our 2019 Sahara’s Wipers just gave out last night in the middle of a storm and I’m on the fence on ordering a Mopar replacement or Just an off brand version.
Honestly if it’s gonna go out every 4/5 years I don’t think paying the extra dime for the Mopar version is plausible.
Anyone else out there have any issues with their setup?
I can’t find much on the JLU’s but a bunch from JKU’s and TJ’s

Have you actually tested the circuit to determine that the motor failed? Thousands of CJDR products come through our shop every year and wiper motor failure is nowhere on the list of common faults. The TIPM is.

I haven’t tested the circuit, the wiper motors go to the UP position but will not “reset” to the down position.
A small push and the wiper will go down… come back up, and get stuck again.
The low HUMMING coming from the motor itself while pushing the wipers up is why I’m suspecting the motor.

Well.
Fast forward a few weeks
Ended up ordering a new wiper motor assembly from Autozone……
Here’s how that went.

Long Story short, It was the wrong assembly. Tech ordered the JK version from what I believe……
So I went online bit the bullet and ordered the overpriced Mopar assembly.:headbang:

I’ll update the post when the new part comes in next week.
Thank god the weather has been good

Yea, that pretty much all adds up. There are practically zero repair parts available aftermarket for the JL right now, dealer only for the next few years.

You’d think it would be easier now since the JLUs already have been on the market since Late 2018. What’s even more of a pain is waiting on shipped parts….. Hawaii has some serious supply issues

I’m having the same problem but can’t figure out how to remove the cable attached to the motor. How’d you do it?
