Windshield down

We see all kinds of pictures with tops off and doors off. But we don't see nearly as many with the windshield down. What gives? Do we have something against insect protein? Do we fear the possibility of a bumblebee induced concussion at 70mph???

I think you might have seen more of it if Jeep included the required (and pretty obscure) brackets to hold down the windshield to the hood. I don't think you'll find a soul running it down on the highway either way but for trail use it's probably pretty nice.

Doors and roof off is enough for me tho.

Folding the windshield on the JL isn’t the same experience as the older models since on the JL the frame (a pillars) and rearview mirror don't fold with the windshield.

Driving at 70 mph with the windshield down has to be illegal in, well, pretty much anywhere! And the moment you take a rock to the face from the vehicle in front of you, you will forever regret it.

Because there are few places it is legal to drive with it folded down. Pretty sure you have to be on private land. I will be cruising the TX coast in my JLUR in 2 weeks but the driving laws on the beach are the same as the road so it would be illegal for me to drive with the windshield down.

As long as you wear safety glasses, it is probably not illegal in most states. In Ohio a helmet isn't required on a motorcycle, but eye protection is...

I'll pop the windshield down on my cj5 occasionally around town. It isn't the same in the JL where tools are required and there is still a roll bar with the hunk of sensors in the middle.
