Just be aware that if you have the one-touch roof, Jeep recommends against putting the front windshield down.

Why? My gut says it’s a structural thing but it’s really not any different than a soft or hard top going topless.

Why? My gut says it’s a structural thing but it’s really not any different than a soft or hard top going topless.

It’s in the owners manual:

“CAUTION:
Lowering of the windshield is NOT recommended in vehicles equipped with a Power Sliding Top. Damage will occur to the top as well as the header seal.”

My guess is if you get up to speed with the windshield down and the power top closed, the wind can do some damage and try to lift the top off the tracks, and debris/wind could damage seals.

Ha! My narrow mind never considered having the windshield down but the top on. Now it makes sense.
