Thanks. I'm ordering the same winch I'm considering either Rusty's or the Maximus plate. Did you have any issues mounting the winch or plate to the bumper?
No. Rusty’s plate was very easy (once you get the bumper off). Getting the 2 passenger side bumper bolts tightened after the winch install was the worst part. You dont get much throw with a ratchet. I have an air ratchet, but it decided not to work when I needed it most.

I have the X20 Smittybuilt 12,000 pound winch on my JL. It fit between the frame rails. I like it recessed.
I like the roam front bumper, might go the same route with the lower bar if I can't get a winch to work on my current bumper.

Anybody out there with the exact measurements of the XRC or X20?

More or less looking for the top front to back width and widest point front to back (on the jeep)

I installed my x20 12k syn with the Maximus plate. Lined up perfectly with the factory steel bumper and easy install.

I don't have the factory bumper, I have an aftermarket with 6" of room

Anybody out there with the possibility of getting a measurement for me?

I might just end up ordering one and trying again

Just took some pics. I can try to get some others if you want specific angles. Not sure about your aftermarket bumper but this sits down inside the MOPAR steel bumper, so the measurements may matter differently.

IronScott, thank you so much! Your pictures have me convinced enough to take the plunge to buy another winch - just a final confirmation, that is the x20 - correct?

Yes sir. 10K version. I really can’t comment on the usage yet but I’m very impressed with the fit and finish and quality. Your bumper may be different but if I had it to do all over again I would take the bumper off and install the winch and then put the bumper back on, but I was able to install it with the bumper already on. Just took a longer.

For half or less the price of the Warn, the Smittybilt seems like an awesome buy. It’s sleek and powerful and the wireless remote is cool as heck.

My winch plate is attached to my aftermarket bumper unfortunately, or else I would go that route. I've heard good things about the X20 so I might as well take the dive on it.

Looks great...does it bother you that the bumper doesnt integrate fog lights? That's the only thing holding me back..

No, it does not bother me. Roam does have some add on like wings that make it so you can use the fog lights. I knew when I bought it that I would loose the fog lights to be able to tuck the winch in like it is. I like the clean look of it. The LED headlights are so bright, I could not tell if the fog lights were on or off anyways.

Looks great...I'm reading that the bumper weighs around 100lbs and winch synthetic line is 67lbs. Does that include skid plate, winch plate and bull bar? Did your front end sag?

The Roam bumper came with the front skid plate, winch plate and bull bar. It did not sag my front end. It was an easy install. The bumper is made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty on it. There is two different bull bars, that you can choose for the bumper.
