I installed a badland apex 12000 on my jeep last weekend and now I'm looking to get some recovery gear. Im new to owning a winch so a kit with everything I need would be great, but I'm not sure if there are quality kits out there. Can anyone recommend any kits or if that's not a good way to go?

you bought a winch from harbor freight - so I'm guessing the kits from Warn, ARB, Factor 55, etc. are not on your radar? They are good, but also expensive. I think most people start out by assembling their own over time.

I would start with a tree saver and soft shackle. that'll probably cover 90% of your winching scenarios.

recovery ring instead of the sheeves in snatch blocks that are used with wire rope.

additional soft shackles D-rings are always good.

kinetic recovery rope for getting someone unstuck quick
tow strap for towing

Shovel
Traction boards

Thanks for the tips! Cost isn't really an issue but I do always try to find the best bang for my buck by default. I bought the winch from HF because the value/cost seemed appropriate for my needs since I don't expect to be winching often and it had good reviews from people. I just wanted a winch in case I occasionally get stuck beyond what traction boards can handle.
