I'm going to get the Warn Elite Front Bumper/skid plate. Any recommendations on which Warn winch to get in addition to it?

VR is their import line, Zeon is made inUS. I went Zeon 10-s but haven’t used it yet.

Go on YouTube and look for “steel winch cable fail,” and then you’ll know. ;-)

Like said above, watch some videos. Biggest advantages are safety and weight, disadvantage is you have to clean it more often than cable, and it costs more.

Advantage of synthetic line is that it doesn't store energy. It's significantly safer than steel. When a synthetic line breaks, it doesn't whip around. Steel line will snap. That's why they recommend line blankets. Helps take some of the energy out of the line if it snaps. But you also have more to maintain with a synthetic. Have to watch that it doesn't drag on rocks and will need replacement before the steel will.

When it comes to how much winch to buy, think about what you will use it for. If you plan on hanging your $50k jeep off it, then get a good one. If it's just for the occasional helping a guy out of a ditch, save your money and get something middle of the road. If you are going to use it for what its intended for, don't go cheap.

Zein 10-s platinum. The remote is awesome. I love mine with the same bumper without the bull bar.

What do you think of the 8s?
It should be fine. I went with the 10 just to have a little extra. My Jeep is a four door and usually loaded with stuff.
Try to find a quadratech catalog, or it might be online on their site as well. They have a comparison chart of line speeds, amp draw, etc of the winches they sell... not just the warns. You might find it helpful.
