Winch Positive/Negative Wiring Routing

I am looking at routing the leads to the battery for Smittybilt winch install. My gut tell me the 6' isnt enough to route it where its nicely tucked away. Anybody build and install their own harness from the battery to winch?

-How much wire did you use?
-Best/easiest routing?
-What gage wiring and connectors used?

My smittybilt didn’t require any longer wire. Pull out your air filter and you will see the route you should take. Just be mindful of sharp edges.

I should say pull out the entire air filter box but you probably got that.
