The winch on our JLR is mounted inside the OEM steel bumper. The winch on my JTM is inside the LOD bumper. Inside looks better, more airflow, and lower center of gravity. Access to the winch would be a pain if needed, but I carry tools with me and it is a quick removal on the JT, not sure about the JL.
