Having the VIn is nice to validate the data such as dates etc... Right now, a big issue with crypto is that it defaults to today's date as an order date. It skews a lot of the data.

When I added mine it defaulted to the prior day. Refused to let me specify the correct day.

Unless Crypto either exposes the contents of their database or includes that info on the page / in headers then you'd need to poll the page daily to detect that change. No history beyond when you first start polling, of course.

A plot of order date vs VIN last 6 digits could extremely quickly detect incorrect dates and allow the dataset to be cleaned up.
