Gathering tools to pack in the Wrangler and don't have a clue as to which tire deflator to use. Do I even need one?

If you plan to go on huge pothole deep rutted FSRs or steep single track rock crawling regularly - then getting something like an ARB core deflator is useful. We air down from 12-18 psi depending on the conditions. So saves us a lot of time and speeds up the process.

But if you are in no rush you can just manually deflate. We do a combo. One person(s) does manual and the other finishes using the ARB. Before hitting asphalt we always air back up. So really do you need one - no. But for us - yes.

Plenty of other options and different types as well. Can just see in the pic below.

I use the screw on automatic deflators. I get vertigo bending over so the less time I have to fool around on the ground the better. I just screw these on and let them do their thing. The only down side is they will only go down to what ever you set them to so if you like to have different pressure for different terrain they may not work for you. They are a little finicky to set so it's best done at home when you have time to fool with them. But once you have them set, they have been flawless going down to the preset pressure. May not be as fast as other deflators, but you can do all four tires at once instead of one at a time so I think it evens out in the end and you don't have to baby sit each tire.

I use these and they work just fine, less than $10

You can't really set them to an exact pressure, so I leave them fairly loose, screw them on at the trailhead, and continue driving. I watch my tps monitor. As they drop to my desired pressure (usually 14 psi for my 37s) I stop, and remove them. Sometimes it takes two or three stops as they don't all bleed down at the same rate, but it's effective, and it's only $10...

Anybody know where these might be in stock? Seems to be backordered everywhere.
