Hey everyone, getting ready to pull the trigger on some new wheels and tires and am looking at putting the stt pro 37x13.5 on a 17x8.5 pro comp rockwell. Pro Comp’s website said that an 8.5 inch wide wheel is as small as I want to go but I’m wondering a couple things. Will the backspacing(4.75) cause rubbing and has anyone had problems with crowning with doing this? I have the mopar lift and will be doing some trackbar purchases along with some other goodies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill

Im currently running 17x9 with 4.75 backspacing and 35x12.50 on my sport with a 2.5 RC lift. No rubbing at all with full turning. I'm assuming you should be fine with your set up and not have rubbing. I would say a 8.5 wide rim for 13.50 wide is a little on the small side but again i'm sure it will be fine you will just have the sucked in tire look a little. You will also more than likely need to run the tires around 28-30 PSI for them to wear evenly. I had 37" STT Pro's on my JK Rubi and I believe I ran them at 28 psi.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been going back and forth between the 12.5 and the 13.5. I wonder if the 1/2 inch is a drastic difference.

I ran the 37x12.50 STT Pros on my JK Rubi on 17x9 Black Rhinos and loved them. Great tires. When I get back home I can throw up some pictures for you for reference.

I looked at the Cajons and like them as well but double the price.

I had the same dilemma and decided on the 13.5 width. Ironically the 13.5 were a little cheaper than the 12.5 too. I have not installed my lift so haven’t mounted wheels yet but did test fit spare on my new Evo carrier. Here’s a pic on the 8.5” wide Teraflex wheel to give you an idea of the look.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
If they have the wheels you like, or another that's similar in a 9 or 9.5 width that would be best, but if not, the 8.5 won't create any problems, but I'd be more apt to chalk test w/ that setup.

How far do you think they will stick out with 4.5 backspacing and a 0 offset? Think I’ll rub? Nice JK Alex!! Thanks for the reference mshields!

They’ll look “untucked” but not crazy. I think it gives the Jeep a little more aggressive and planted stance. As far as rubbing it’s hard to say. With factory control arms it’s possible you could have some rubbing at full lock but nothing that would cause damage. At the rear you will probably want to remove the lower plastic liner and use a heat gun to reshape the bulge at the back too.
