Hey everyone, I’ve search and looked thru many posts, pages and google to no avail.
hoping some could help with measurements, photos or whatever.

i’m looking to compare 35x12.50x17 on different wheel widths. On factory 7.5”, 8”, 9”, and 10”. What does the tire width measure on each. I’m trying to see which makes it look the widest instead of pizza cutter look.

If this is actually posted somewhere with different terms that I have searched for, a link would be great too.
thanks!

In my experience it doesn't make much of a difference in appearance until you get to the extremes of wide/narrow wheels, and each of those comes with problems. Narrow wheels make tires look "balloony" but it stresses the tire at high speeds. Wide wheels make tires look extra thick but it is much easier to pop a bead when aired down.

It's best to have a wheel right in the middle of the tire manufacturer's wheel width range. If you go just a little wider or narrower than that there won't be much difference in appearance.

For that size tire, a 9" wide Rim width, with a Back Spacing of 4.5, would be a great fit, and give you the wide look, that you are asking for.

I've seen the industry average is .2" change in section width per .5" change in wheel width.

So an imaginary tire is 12.5" wide on a 9" measured rim width per the manufacturer's specs:

8": 12.10"
8.5": 12.30"
9": 12.50"
9.5": 12.70"
10": 12.90"
