What will you be doing differently from the maintenance schedule?

Because it is a cartridge and I can get to it standing up. It is front and center on the engine. It won't pour everywhere like when you unscrew a can filter.
You got a fav jack you use? HF looks to have some nicely reviewed ones. You know the MM socket on the drain plug? on the filter? how's the factory engine air filter? washable/reusable? or get a better one? lol lots of questions

Does anyone know what brand/type of oil FCA puts in from the factory for the JL, and are there any special break-in additives that you should leave it in there, or is it just off-the-shelf stuff?

Yep. My JK, though, is a 3.8. The filter isn't in a bad spot, and is easily accessible, but I have to do it from underneath, and it does drip all over the axle housing. No way around that.

Hey, another plus I just thought of...The 2" lift and 35's will give me LOTS more room when crawling underneath to loosen/tighten the drain plug! Again, the JK isn't bad, but this one will be much better.
That extra room will be nice. i'm waiting on my sport still. they have the sport at 9.7 in of gc now which is very sim to the jk rubi at 10in gc so hopefully there's some nice room under the sport as well. obviously i'll still grab a jack and some stands but more gc the better

I'm sure it's a paper filter. I'm against the reusable filters.

Jack? Like hi-lift? I haven't used one just because I don't want the weight of it. I know they are useful, and usually someone will have one on another Jeep when I'm off-roading. I don't know the drain plug size yet. The air filter looks like it is set up like the JK. I'll go with a Mopar until Fram comes out with one. I'm certain the Mopar is not resuseable.

I'll guess 13 or 14 millimeters on the drain plug. I think my JK is 13mm.

Ahh, I see. I probably will need a new one to reach up that high, but I don't really do any maintenance that requires a jack. If a shock broke, or something, I'd have to get one like that, though, to jack it up to replace it.
what about tire rotations? i've not familiar with maint work but wouldn't you need a floor jack for that? if not then ? and great !

I have the lifetime (of the tire) Discount Tire rotate/balance deal, so I just drive in there every 3 to 5 thousand miles and have them do it. It makes BFG tires last a LOOONNNGGG time, and they run nice and smooth. Oh, and my hands don't get dirty.;)

That’s awesome. Very happy to hear.

Holy cow! That 2.0T engine is going to need spark plugs every 30K Miles. That’s crazy!

Ouch! That would have been yet another reason to add to my rationale for buying the Pentastar.

I’m contemplating early oil change (Pennzoil platinum ultra or whatever). Almost 1000KMs on her so maybe this week.

Anyone else doing early oil changes
