How do you "reflash" the cluster? My rearview camera has guidelines on Mondays and Wednesdays sometimes, and then at random times, no lines at all!

I have seen the 999,999 miles too many times to count but it will correct itself in less than a mile.

A couple times it has told me the outside temp was 800*F

Many times it will not show ANY mileage at all.

A few times it told me to push the clutch in on my automatic to start the rig.

Supposedly you can go to the Jeep dealer and get the latest software software flash done to correct this. But it will cost you an hour of shop time for a useless fix as the errors do not impact drivability.

Did this before and after new batteries.

I’ve not had a Jeep (or any car with software flashes) out of warranty so pardon the possibly silly question: if you were to schedule, say, an oil change or other service and ask them to flash it to the latest software version at the same time, is that something you’d get charged for? Or is that generally a free service assuming you’re already paying for other shop time?

I Know that you have to pay whats called the "diag fee" as it was explained to me. I was having the recall fixed for the steering stabilizer and the can cbus thing fixed so- All I had to pay was for the $200 diag fee.

To me, it was far worth it as I paid for this vehicle and want stuff fixed that can be. I know others may have differing opinions, but my take is I want stuff fixed and kept.

Outside of that- it has not been to the dealer and I do not intend to take it there for anything else.

Your batteries aren't just on their last leg, They're on borrowed time!
Thank them for their exceptionally long service and put them out to pasture.
If you don't have eTorque, replace both Main & Aux.
LOL, MY 18 is still running factory batteries and still testing good. LOL Ive had the gensis dual battery kit for 4 months waiting for the batteries to quit and yet they keep on living LOL

I suspect they would stick you with an hour of shop time even though it will likely take 15 minutes to perform on top of the oil change. I doubt you are getting a certified tech to perform an oil change as well. If the hourly wage of a tech is $20 then his/her total package is more likely $40 per hour which would be most of the cost of an oil change along with shop cost of filter and oil. I suspect you get an apprentice or an oil tech for the routine work. Very little ASE certified knowledge is needed for a simple oil change

Known issue. You need a new cluster, see a dealer. There a bug in the firmware where it'd get stuck at 13k or so. Even after the fix it still happens, once it shows 999999 it needs to be replaced.

So this happened to me today. I think this battery's is on its last leg. I have a tazer so start/stop has been off for a while now plus battery's is original 2018. Yikes I know.

Man I have never seen a vehicle that had 1 miles short of 1,000,000 miles on it...

Just had my cluster replaced for this issue as well. Had been doing it for a few years but it would always go back to the correct mileage after a few minutes.

The first order of business would be to disconnect the small battery, especially if you are not using the ESS anymore, and see if that helps. If that doesn't help then I would replace the main battery.

I have not seen any of those issues with my 2018. Its original battery was replaced after one year and I've read about a lot of people who have replaced their original battery within the first few years. I realize YMMV but if you need your vehicle to be reliable you probably deserve a new battery.

I have deleted the aux battery and replaced the main battery 2 years ago, and the cluster did the 999999 before and after the batteries were changed.
