Hey Guys! Just got myself a wrangler. Can't seem to figure out what this plate is and what its used for. Your help would be much appreciated!

Most likely a phone/tablet/other device mount that the previous owner installed.

That is a common spot for mounts and the fact that it's angled towards the driver makes me think this.

Thanks guys! I figured it had something to do with a phone. I've been looking for a phone mount that would be compatible with it. No luck yet but I'll keep searching. Thanks again!

Kinda looks like an old custom mount from panavise or pro fit. Used to use those a lot when i worked for bell Atlantic mobile/Verizon back in the day before Bluetooth was a thing and a lot of people had hands free car kits installed in their cars.

That looks exactly like the mic mounts that @CoolTech sells. I have one in my JL for my GMRS radio.

You can either screw the mic clip on or use a command strip.

Its definitely a CB/GMRS radio handset mount. It looks like its missing the plastic adaper that secures the handset to the mount. But you could easily convert it to hold a cell phone.

I attached a pic of the one I have. The handset attaches differently than the one in your vehicle, but otherwise it is the same.

They are very easy to install/uninstall. You just have to remove the grab bar and replace it.
