My wife is loving our Willys XR except for the rear window. When she opens the rear door and lifts the rear window to store things she is unable to reach the window to close it! :CWL:

Has anyone found a clean way to add a tether or small rope/handle that will hang down far enough for someone to grab to pull down the window?

Thanks!

Also, if you have a tow hitch, Weathertech makes a step that fits it..

I'm 5'2 and I just jump for it.

I did have to add a pull down strap on the inside of the hood though. No way I can reach that thing when it's open.

This is a serious issue for us older folks. Everytime I get into my Jeep it puts a smile on my face, right after I catch my breath from climbing in. I've been recovering from cancer and there was a time where I could not get in it at all. It's been motivating to get back in the saddle (you take the small wins where you can get them...) But seriously the thought did cross my mind that I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to drive my Jeep.

We are stock height and my 5 foot wife can reach the glass to close it. She uses the running boards and grab handles every time to get in or out though.

On our Audi I was able to set an up limit for the rear hatch, wish there was a way with the Jeep rear glass

(speaking in a whisper) She's 60...while she's still very energetic, jumping ain't her game anymore. ~ She'll never open the hood, but I hadn't considered the hood issue either - especially with the Redline hood struts!

Thanks, I saw that in an earlier thread. It's a consideration but I'm looking for a more economical solution.

Getting older for sure. That's why I put the running boards on - to make it a bit easier to get in/out of the XR.

I wish you many more years of climbing in and smiling as you drive your Jeep.
