The turnbuckle thingy (adjuster) you turn to center the steering wheel is on the Drag Link. This is the part which attaches at the pitman arm and connects to the upper mount of the passenger knuckle. The Drag Link adjuster is up towards the pitman arm. The Tie Rod attaches to both knuckles - passenger side lower mount to driver side. The Tie Rod also has an adjuster, but this adjusts the Toe setting.

If you turned the Tie Rod adjuster, your toe setting will now be off. You'll either need to get an alignment done or do it yourself. Almost doesn't make sense at this point to re-center your steering wheel and then get an alignment. Re-centering of steering wheel is last step in alignment after adjusting toe and caster.
