Why is it a thing (serious question)?

I have yet to see a Jeep like this. Am I just missing them?

I noticed them a lot when I lived in Jacksonville, but not so much since moving back home to Winston. Maybe we've got more sense up here?

Anyways the only time my truck has ever looked like that is when I had it loaded down with a pallet of loop sealant. Probably should have needed a 3/4 truck for that load, I actually had to turn on tow/haul mode.

It’s a California thing. Been seeing it on wannabe Baja racing trucks since the 90s, like Nissan Hardbody, Toyos, Rangers, S10s, etc.
