That’s after 35’s-4.56’s no recal in town. But it does suck in town, ~16 cruising 80 mph so hwy isn’t bad. Pay to play ?
Understandable. I like having hemi torque plus the fuel economy. Nothing like that v8 sound though ??

Question from a dummy. “Current” recently popped up after not knowing it was available, then disappeared again. I didn’t know if was available or why on and off. How the heck do you turn it on ? (saving me a manual search) ?

You don’t. Unfortunately, this is a common problem amongst the Jeep world. No rhyme or reason why, it disappears and then comes back down the road. I’ve lost mine twice in 29k miles. The fix for me was putting the current mpg in the top center location that way I can still see it when the other one disappears. I had a compass there, but pretty sure I can find my way without it.

Dummy is more confused, top center location ? Regardless of center splash screen display ?

You can go into your setup screen and move everything around to better suit your needs. I’m sure there’s a how-to out there but it’s pretty straightforward once you open the settings menu. Basically where it says fuel economy on the top part, is where I have my current mpg now.

Once upon a time when we first added DPF to Navistar trucks, we didn't think to move the external thermostat. We got readings like that when the DPF was in regen mode until we moved it... A blast from the past.

In my driveway and around town (Florida Panhandle) off-road pages tells me I am usually 55' below sea level. Never wet inside and it's only rated for 3' of water fording.

I believe you can use the D-pads on the left side to scroll left/right and make it appear.

Unfortunately no, there’s a glitch somewhere in the system that makes it disappear completely. It’s been a common problem for awhile now and dealers haven’t found a fix for it yet. Some have tried disconnecting the battery, pulling fuses, software updates, etc with no luck.

When Ca required a particulate muffler retrofit on the Cat’s in our Pete’s the re-gen was removing and cooking them in a kiln- Very Convenient ! It also required my stacks to be removed and a weed burner for the single muffler and ease of R&R for cooking, greatly improving appearance and enhancing the absence of exhaust fumes ! - They even had to be added to the refrigeration units. This expensive PITA retrofit was necessary to save the Planet, requiring it on new models with re-gen evidently insufficient.

I was in Design For Service when those came out. I set the design requirements for NAV. We didn't know what anyone else was doing, but I figured if we could manage these three things, we'd be competitive.
1) Direct access to the DPF, no more than 5 minutes to remove anything in the way like steps or skirts.
2) No special tools to remove DPF. Same set of tools takes off anything in the way plus the DPF.
3) Must meet EPA minimum lifecycle. This seems like it would go without saying, but it didn't.

Next up, how do you clean them? Well, here's a funny story about that.

My boss bought a big air starter tank of a USPS truck. Yes they used to use air starters, it would sound like a giant impact wrench starting the truck. I took it to a company that worked on boilers to have a 4" flange with a butterfly valve mounted to it. His idea was to bolt the DPF direct to this large air reservoir (probably 40 - 50g), put an industrial dust collector bag on the back side, and just... open the valve.

He was enough of a nerd (Mark, I'm talking about you) to add pressure ports before and after the butterfly valve, and arrange a Fluke meter with peak hold and special sensors so we could capture the high / low pressures seen in the pipe (thus in the filter). Mark won't be on this forum, he'll be on the "Crappy Old Diesel Volvo Wagons With A Used Toilet Stored In The Back" forum somewhere else.

Well, it was all set up on the back dock, while he ate a banana in his office, sitting on his exercise ball. I, being a trained Engineer, know about failure due to air pressure, and was a little nervous to just stand there and yank the valve open. So we aired it up to 160psi, tied a long rope to the handle and stood on the other side of a wall of boxes of parts, and yanked it open.

It did not explode. But it did register a peak pressure of over 500psi just forward of the flange that we mounted the filter to - the air began to move rapidly through the valve, through the pipe, and when it hit the face of the filter, it peaked out. It blew the bottom out of the dust collector bag, covered the dock in soot and ash, and drew a crowd from the office who thought something had exploded.

I recommended that we did not go with this solution, there was great peril and it made a mess. :) But what a potato gun that would have been. We shot shop rags all the way to the 40' ceiling in the shop a few times after that, at a lower pressure.

I do remember talking with local heat treaters about cooking out the filters until we worked out the service tool to clean them.
