I am not 100% sure but I think base weight is the model as built with no options. Curb weight would be what the model weighs with options. I think that is why curb weight is N/A because it depends on what options you add like steel bumper group.It looks like the reason for the confusion might be that there's no 2dr Sahara currently, and that list on the forum post is giving the weight figures as a "2dr / 4 dr" set. Since there's no 2 dr number for the Sahara, it looks like the Sahara weighs more than the Rubicon, but that's because we were looking at the 4dr Sahara vs the 2dr Rubicon. The numbers in the comparison tool match when you look at it that way...
By the way, what's the difference between "base weight" and "curb weight", the two different values shown on the comparison tool screenshot above?
Both include all fluids for the weight listed.I believe curb weight includes all fluids as well.
I don't know about the difference in wheel weight but the Rubicon's tires are heavier than the Sahara's.I'm no expert but if it is true could it be due to the Sahara having 18in wheels compared to the Rubi's 17in, and also the selec-trac trans?
