Well you could use the fob for self defense, either as a bludgeon or switch blade the 1/8 inch thick key out for stabbing device.

For about $1.25- $1.65, there is, an equally good alternative, it was mentioned earlier....
Many here have used this alternative....

Anyway, just take a piece of foam pipe insulation, cut it the proper length and squeeze it into the space between the front seat (drivers side and passenger side) and the center console.

I used black, pipe insulation that has an outside diameter of 1.5 inches. I used an 11 inch long piece alongside side of both drivers seat and passenger seat.

Do this and no more dropping, charge cards, change, keys or whatver and having them drop down to no man's land so to speak.

You drop something and there it will be sitting on top of that foam pipe insulation, waiting for you to retrieve it,

Yes, the seat(s) will move freely just as they always did.... has no negative impact on the JL. You don't even know it's there til you drop something.

Public Service message: IF you ever drop a credit card, driver's license, etc. in the gaps around the parking brake handle, do not try to pop the cover that surrounds the lever. You will do very costly damage doing this. Better to easily loosen the console and retrieve the item without doing costly damage. Come to the forum and ask how to loosen...

Yeah someone had a DYI around here I think it was tubing I forget, he was wanting to block the "BlackHole" next to seat.

That was me from several years ago. Costs $1. Home Depot or Lowes. Simple pipe insulation foam. Cut to length. Stuffed in the gap. Stays put. Color matches almost exactly to the trim color. It’s saved so many things from falling into the void.

I was going to put a lift on mine, but I was afraid it wouldn't fit in the garage after that.

This actually happened to me in a parking garage. I had to unbolt the passenger seat to tilt it back far enough that I could access under the center console. Sucked big time.

The average dealer would blame everything on the hole blocker and try to void the warranty…..

i use my key fob under my stock jack to help raise the jack since i did 2.5" lift.

i also use it when rocks arent available and im struggling to overcome an obstacle. careful not to driver over the button though as you may cause the key to knock down a tree or person.
