Weak door locks?

Yesterday I got my JL back from the transmission shop (had an A.C.T. Clutch put in) and I noticed the door locks sounded weak when I used the remote to lock the doors. Checked and the doors were locked, but the tailgate was not. Hit the button a second time and then the tailgate was locked. This is new; up until yesterday the lock has had a nice strong sound to it. I’ve got the Genesis duel battery set up, and the batteries are in good shape and less than a year old. Has anyone experienced something similar to this in their Jeep?

I believe you nailed it. I just found this post (see picture) from June of 2020 that sounds like my problem and mirrors what you just said. Thanks for the input

Could be the doorlock solenoid, but a simple battery voltage check is worth doing as well. I had to replace one of my Genesis Odyssey batteries a couple weeks ago, just before a trip on the rubicon. The battery is probably 3-4 years old. I blame it on the way the Gen 1 Genesis system manages the batteries. But maybe these expensive Odyssey batteries aren't as good as a Duralast Platinum. But they cost almost 50% more.

Only because I want to provide some diversity in answers. Your battery is getting weak-sauce, since you have a 2018, live in NM and the tranny-shop left it parked for a couple days.

Door lock solenoids failing is common. Still, it's a lot less work to check battery voltage to make sure you diagnosed it correctly.

My first thought was the batteries, both read healthy. The post I took a screenshot of from June 2020 spoke of the same problem with the tailgate lock, so I believe that the power latch will be the ticket on this one. Thanks for the help.

If your battery will start your Jeep, it is plenty to lock your doors. These door locks aren't working well. The rear doors are a pain in the ass to do.
