The right answer is change the oil yourself, remind your service advisor prior to handing him the keys, or find a new dealer. Some people here have put a label on the oil filler cap noting 5 quarts. I buy in a 5 quart jug and spend 20 minutes doing it myself. I know that’s not for everyone.

It's a new Jeep, I have the complimentary oil changes that came with the purchases, it is a shame not to use them.

Unless they are wrecking my engine, of course.

I get that…I didn’t use mine. That’s how much I trust the dealer. Unless it’s a warranty repair I can’t afford I’m going to do it myself or take it to an independent shop that works on Jeeps. Probably an overreaction on my part. Not a criticism of anyone who chooses otherwise.

I do not trust the oil changing techs. Mine has been overfilled twice now. I also had one of them show me the level on the dip stick after he was done. He did not know how to read the dip stick!! He just put in the prescribed amount and called it a day.

Got it, but what potential harm is it doing and is it likely to be causing the electrical/hybrid issues I’m having?

It actually came from the factory with 6qt of oil, which is crazy.

Yeah that’s all above my pay grade. How did you determine there was 6 quarts from the factory?

That’s how much was in it when I first took it to the dealer to investigate the issues I was having.
