Water Proof Duffle Bag

Hey Jeep folks,

Just an FYI – I found this waterproof duffel bag (Dry Water Adventure) that totally came through for me on my last off-roading trip to Moab. I’ve got a Rubicon and packed this thing full of gear – clothes, camping stuff, recovery tools – you name it, it fit. The 120L capacity is no joke.

Strapped it down in the back with the tie-downs, and I didn’t have to worry about it once. We hit some pretty rough trails, like Hell’s Revenge, and this bag stayed put the whole time, even when bouncing around over rocks and through river crossings.

What really surprised me was how well it handled the rain. It poured on us a couple of times, but the bag's roll-down top kept everything dry. It’s got a valve to squeeze out extra air, too, so it packs down tight – no fighting to make it fit.

Anyway, just thought I'd share in case anyone needs a solid waterproof bag for their adventures. It’s been a solid addition to my gear for sure.

Looks cool, but really pricey.
My dad uses dry bags when he goes spear fishing, and they're dirt cheap but work really well.
Like $15-$20 for a 70 liter dry bag.

Use something like you are showing for a waterproof cooler in my waverunner. This can hold about 12 sodas and ice for all day out on the water. I like this bag for that because it is insulated and made of some really thick material.

I've had those cheaper bags tear which isn't very fun when you're on the water and your keys are in it!

I didn't have any pictures with the strapped on the jeep, but I did have some with it attached to my jet ski. This should give you a better idea of

how big the bag is and how easy it is to tie it down.

It looks like the Rigid gear bags have a zipper. I have had nothing but trouble with waterproof bags with zippers. Do you have the bag? Can you provide any experiences?

I have the duffel, as well as 2-3 of their gun cases. The zipper is a little tough, but works just fine. I think I broke part of the handle on the duffel but it doesn’t affect the bag at all (I didn’t bother to have it repaired). They also sell some various lubricants to keep the zippers from sticking.

I primarily use the bag as part of my hunting load out, I stuff it pretty full of cold weather gear and it works great.

Does that drywater rolltop bag stay closed if the wind catches it? Has the stitching held up?

The opening has large velcro strips to seal it. Then you roll it down to keep it waterproof.
Then it has a strap that claps over the top to lock it all in. It's pretty indestructible. Here are some pictures showing the strap, the inside stitching and how it looks open.

The little dry bags I've used on a boat fill with air when you roll them. It's like carrying around little balloons. Does that happen on the big bags?

I'm always on the lookout for high(er) quality dry bags. Do we know if Watershed's products are made in the USA? The website doesn't confirm this, unless I missed it, and that's something we'd need to know based on the listed pricing.
