for those that like and used locking manual hubs. warn has them for the jl with 35 spline axles. $347 is not a bad price. i figured if one was available, they would be over $500.

Thanks for posting this information, I was wondering if lockouts were available for the 18 and up JL. Do you know if these will bolt right onto a new Rubicon wrangler? If so I am going to order a set

You know you need a lot more parts than those hubs to convert the JL to free wheeling hubs right? That link is for just the hubs themselves, you’ll still need outer shafts, spindles, wheel bearings, probably rotors etc.

I wouldn't put a lot of trust into those fitting the JL. According to a search of the Warn site, they also fit a 2004 TJ (with no differentiation between a Dana 30 or 44). I believe these are their generic 35 spline hubs, not anything especially designed for the JL.

Like @Vinman stated, you will need to swap out quite a bit of parts to run traditional hubs, easily exceeding $1k or more. The stock spline count on the JL Rubicon stub shafts are 32 spline. So at minimum, you'd swap the outer stub shafts to 35 spline (that's if a company offered just a 35 spline outer to mate up with the stock inner shaft), spindles, and custom bearings, races, and seals. Realistically, you'd probably have to buy all new inner and outer chromoly shafts as a set.

Dynatrac offers these kits for Dodge and Ford HD trucks, and those kits start at $1,900 and go up from there.
