I've got about 7k miles on my 2022 Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon. Today I did a 5-tire rotation.
After pulling off each of my rear tires, I noticed that the wheel hub had a decent amount of surface rust. By contrast, the front hubs were fairly clean.
So two questions: Is this normal? And any advice on how best to clean these hubs and prevent future rust buildup?
My understanding is that taking a wire brush to these is OK but you should not lubricate these in any way because you want the wheel to remain tight against the hub. Still, I'm a little bummed these rear hubs look like they do after only 7k miles.
Thanks!
