I have a standard vinyl (black diamond) soft top on my JL, and never really thought about it melting or deforming in intense heat. However, temps in my area recently topped 110 degrees and will soon exceed 120, so my OCD kicked in and has me wondering about this. My old CJs and TJs either had no top, cloth top, or hard top, so just curious what people have experienced with vinyl in extremely hot climates.

I'm pretty sure Bestop did some research as to how the sun would affect their tops.
Agree 100%, but FCA also spent millions to design and develop the JL and yet we're still dealing with "Jeep things."

It'll be fine - just a little more pliable

Absolutely! I understand where you're coming from too, the surface of the top get red hot! But I've never seen a case of melting from the sun regardless of location on the planet. And you can rest assured that these materials used pass stringent OEM standards and expectations.
