About a month ago I noticed this ticking noise coming from the engine bay, I was like "ok pentastar tick you got me". Upon inspecting the underside of my JL I noticed that the vacuum pump was hanging by one of the cables and rubbing against a pulley, thus making a ticking noise! (What a relief no engine tick!). I then noticed that the mounting tabs and screws were still attached to the engine.
I had a piece of scrap aluminum and I made an emergency mounting plate. It worked for a week until it broke and I lost my vacuum pump on the highway...
I did some research and found out that you can buy just the mounting plate for the 2.0 turbo, but for the 3.6 you have to get a new vacuum pump that comes with a mount. So I ordered a used pump. Not a week later same shit, mounting plate sheared off from the tabs and it was dangling by the cable. I truly don't know what can be causing this to happen. 2018 JLUR
