Has anyone modified a 4xe and how does it respond to 35” tires or a lift?

Have had both. I'm buying out my 4xe lease whereas my 3.6 was traded in before 2 years.

Regarding longevity, I think if you gwt a good one, it'll outlast the 3.6. 3.6 has ironed out manufacturing issues since its been in production longer, but I think the 2.0 and 4xe system are better engineered.

The real problem is the aforementioned manufacturing issues. Mines been great for 30k, so I assume I'm lucky. But my observation on the troublesome 4xes is that the issues all seem to arise from how it was put together.

If you do get one, I suppose you'll just have to roll the dice on that part.

But Jeep has never been synonymous with quality either
I know jeeps arent supposed to be known for reliability but being happy that nothing went wrong after only 30k is sad regardless of any brand of vehicle. I hope these new plug ins arent that bad as a norm

I just don't have more miles on it. It's not about being happy its made it 30k, as if thats unusuals, but more that in 30k, no issues. Even gas cars typically have something wrong in the first 30k, even if it's small. I've had not a single thing go wrong.

My 3.6 had transmission overheating issues in the first 17k. That 6 speed sucks. My wife's Subaru had to go to the dealer at 26k for some window switches. Stuff happens. But asides from the battery recall, which was a software update that showed mine was fine, my Jeep has been at home

I'm sure it did a little but I didn't keep track. But the range on battery is so poor anyhow, that I was mostly running as a hybrid.
The one thing that's nice is that, you can save the battery for when you'll be off-road.

True. its just somehow a sad commentary on overall quality. I didnt even make it 10k before I got a leaky shock and squeaky bushings from city driving.

guess its a literal case of "your mileage may vary"

I'll stand by that statement, but I'll also emphasize that they're not put together as well. Jeep straight up cheaped out on the battery, hence all the damn recalls. The issues everyone has with em? Typically related to battery or electrical issues.

The 3.6 however has had some persistent issues since it launched that seem to be engineering related.

Disagree that the kinks will never be worked out. It's like any other powertrain or tech. It gets figured out over time. But you're not wrong that there's a good possibility you'll pick up a problem Jeep used. However, I think that's true regardless of powertrain. Just have to be cautious.

To the OP, try to get a 2023 and up 4xe. The majority of the problems seem to be with those first 2 years.
I can attest to that as well. My 21 Rubicon 4xe wa s a nighmare of problems and recalls. Also needed the streering gear and dampners replaced after only two years. Traded it for a 24 Sahara 4xe and it's been a day and night difference. My Sahara rides like a 4-Runner! So ya, the bugs were those first couple years.
