Can anyone confirm that Carplay should work from the rear seat USB3 port? My 1 and 2 work (2 is sometimes shady), but nothing but charge from USB3. Thanks!

Yeah I was aware of that. The one without the label is supposed to be charge only so I figured Carplay should work from USB3, but not on my Jeep.

I have never connected anything to the rear usb. I use the front and the one in the console. And I am an Android user.

My #3 port works, I use it all the time. The #2 port in the center console doesn’t work, it never has, but works just fine when I take it to the dealers to have them check it

So I’ve been to the dealer three time now for this. At first they did not see any issue with my usb2 and said my usb3 is not supposed to work with CarPlay.

Then my usb2 started dripping out more frequently and I took it to them in that state. The flashed the radio software.

Then the same thing happens still, I take it back and they say they need to order a part. They said it was the media hub but after the repair the part in the invoice seems to just be the usb2 port itself. I leave the dealer and have the same problem on the way home.

Since I never have issues with usb1 I feel like the rear media hub or wiring between the radio and rear media hub might be the real issue.

So after about 6 trips to the dealer my USB2 is back to working with Carplay. So USB1 and USB2 activate Carplay USB3 works as an ipod but does not activate Carplay. Anyone know if this is normal?

I believe that this is correct, I actually just found a manual to confirm!

Recently I pulled apart my dash and center console, then unplugged and plugged back in all of the USB cables, and the USB in the center console worked great for a couple of weeks. But now it’s back to normal, working when it wants to, not when I want it to.
I hope that your dealer was successful in fixing your issue, it gives me some hope that I may have a chance

Thanks.

That USB2 behavior you describe was the same issue I had. Dealer says they replaced the wiring harness and rear media hub and now it seems to be ok. Previous attempts were two sperate software updates and replacing the USB2 port itself. Neither of those two worked.
