USAA Vehicle Pricing

I'm guessing there are some other Veterans on this site and I am wondering if you have purchased a vehicle using USAA? A couple of years ago I used the link on the USAA site to price out some vehicles and from what I understand you are supposed to be able to purchase at dealer cost and get special rebates.

What do you guys think the odds are we would be able to purchase a JL or JT at dealer cost?

I am a USAA member and I plan to check it out but I think it is too early for programs like this and TrueCar. I will check in a month

The last time I did much better negotiating on my own than I could get through them but it doesn't hurt to check.

I use it as a starting point and take it to non USAA dealers then take the lower quote to the USAA dealer it has worked well for me. When I bought my Chevy Truck I got lower than USAA price at a USAA dealer and then you don't pay destination/delivery charge. (apparently that is part of the perk of being a USAA dealer if you use them the dealership gets some kind of incentive I have to assume it makes up for the charge)

I always check, bought two new vehicles in two yrs, but after their best price I am able to use as leverage and I have found better deals on both cars. ( an ordered from factory 2016 corvette and a dealer BMW.)
I did use USAA financing and dealers always tell me they can’t touch USAA.

My ex-wife was military and we purchased our 2012 at 2% under invoice with the USAA car buying service without any issues(No hassles/negotiations etc.)
Since then I've found that you can do the same or better without using their service, but it requires more "work."

I have kept an eye on USAA car buying program but so far no JL Rubicons on local lots to give me any ideas on pricing. They are coming in at about $500 under MSRP on Sport models, and TL is much better than that.

Same as above. Use it to price out but can usually get better. That said, if you go and "find" any vehicle through the service and put in the zip of the dealer you want to buy from, USAA will knock .5% off their financing rate of your loan. They just want you to have found a dealer through the service.

USAA has specific deals with dealerships. It’s a limited enrollment. Some dealerships are good with the program and some aren’t. I’m a huge fan an member the JL hasn’t been put out there yet that I can find. It will though in time.

Its just the True Car program rebranded for USAA. I have always been able to negotiate a better price but then use USAA and print a bogus certificate for the .25% better APR.
