I
I discovered this four years ago when I bought my new jeep but didn’t want to have it professionally undercoated because years later when it starts to crack, salt will then get in those cracks and stay there, I spray it anywhere I don’t want rust to start, like inside of my aftermarket steel bumpers, the whole area underneath the jeep where salt can get thrown up and sit, guys it works and only takes about one and a half cans to cover it, this doesn’t stay on permanently but seems to last long enough to get through the winter!
Your County garage probably uses this on all their plow equipment.

I 2nd this. Really works, lasts 1 winter.

You can also buy it in 1 gallon buckets and apply it with a spray gun for an air compressor. It ends up being much cheaper than the spray cans in the long run.

I did 2 coats of Amsoil HD Metal Protector when I got the Jeep.
This year I sprayed Fluid Film Black using an undercoating gun, easier than cans and cost 60$ for a gallon which will do 2-3 vehicles. Its a greasy mess underneath but I rather deal with that then rust

I've tried FF, Krown, Blaster Surface Shield, and CRC Marine corrosion inhibitor on prior vehicles. They're all a pain to spray upside down from the can. I can never get through a full can without the nozzle gumming up. They also leave the underside a wet, oily mess.

For my '24 Willys, I decided to try Waxoyl. It drys to a hard wax finish. We'll see how it holds up.

I bought a gallon can and an undercoating gun several years ago. I've done probably half a dozen applications between my truck and Jeeps, and still have, maybe, 1/4 gallon left.

Looks very similar to Amsoil HD Metal Protector, I'm testing it on the TRX, no visible rust anywhere

Been using FF since my JLUR was new. 1 application per year, for 5 years. Jeep has a mint undercarriage. Big fan.

I use ramps too - still on my back spraying upside down. How does this enable you to cheat?

I have sprayed multiple cars with Fluid Film over the years. I live in the rust belt and impressed by the results. I have had no issues other than the odor for a couple of days.

I buy it by the gallon and use a cheap Amazon undercoat spray gun and air compressor. Look for one that comes with a straw or wand that allows you to spray inside the frame. Some even come 360 degree tips. It just needs a little touch up every year, and generally where the water splashes against it. Although it’s temping to wash your undercarriage during the winter, it will remove the FF.

Check out “Repair Geek” on YouTube, and their results after 7 years.

I don’t have any good ones except for these from last year. Bottomline, over the years the film has built up but doesn’t fully dry. Take a rag to it and wipe the build up off and your find shiny metal underneath.

It doesn’t come off that easy though with the undercarriage spray at the car wash, I have to go to the self service wash bay in the spring and hit it like 3” away to get most of it off and there’s still a thin film left.
That undercarriage spray is just too weak, at least at the couple different ones that I used.

The secret of my rust free Jeeps through the years, is that I spray them every automn with 5-6 cans of rust proofing, and take most of it off with a few bottles of degreaser and power washer every spring. That technique works like a charm and my frame and components remain looking like the Jeep is brand new.

If you don’t take it all off in the spring, the sand, salt and crap that stuck to the rustproofing start holding moisture and rust soon follows despite the rustproofing.
