Under body rust

Does anyone have experience with their new JL (after 7k miles) showing signs of underbody rust?

Looks like this may have been a scrap from road hazard but still surprised to see it. Should I worry? Anything to do for it?

obviously, if you scrape off the coating/finish, and expose bare metal, you're gonna get some rust. but that rust is just superficial, sand it off and recoat it with some tremclad and be done with it. nothing to worry about.

Chicago? Suggest you find a good rustproofer. Too late for this winter, but clean it up over the summer and get it sprayed. Lot's of ideas and products in these forums.

That should fall under routine maintenance, which is relative to everything else.

What rust product are you gonna use for this coming winter to prepare your jeep jl to prevent rust?
