So, I was under my Jeep over the Christmas holiday installing a Fox 2.0 ATS Steering Stabilizer and a Teraflex track bar. Wow, what a huge difference it makes and I highly recommend this set up. The stabilizer is a little pricey, however, you can immediately tell a difference! Back to the post. While I was under the Jeep, I noticed it looked 30 years old. I see rust spots everywhere and all the black painted metal looks light grey. It reminded me of my old 1973 Landcruiser FJ40, seriously. Mind you, I own a 2018 Rubicon. She is barely 2 years old and looks 30 years old under the belly. Thoughts or comments are great appreciated.

The finish of many things underneath the vehicle are lackluster, for sure. Welds are not tight, parts aren't polished, things aren't always painted. I would think, after all the hype surrounding the Dana 44s that they would be nicely finished like the Dynatrac axles or something. It just shows the utilitarian nature of the Wrangler. However, for the kind of money people are shelling out, it could seriously look nicer.

I am the second owner on my Jeep and the first thing I did was crawl under to give the whole chassis a good look! Mine had 10,000 on the odometer when I purchased so I assumed it was a lease and after receiving the title I saw it was a woman who leased. It honestly looked like new under the jeep and in the engine bay..I thought wow... way too clean How can that be?
I have had 5 jeeps prior so I know what you are talking about! Hence I bought myself 6 cans of fluid film and undercoated the chassis, tubing everything exposed honestly everything..then wiped it down not to have clumps of it in areas. I live in the Northeast and salt for the roads is pretty cos-tic on regularly treated metals and on the jeep it just eats it...she still looks good underneath ..when spring comes I'll do it again and then cycle it all over again in the fall.
