why would you want a body lift instead of a normal lift on a Jeep?

They’ve been replaced with spacer lifts. Basically the same idea but you don’t have to separate the body from the frame.

Spacers lifts are just as cheap these days go with that.

I have 2.5 suspension lift, I just want another 1or so of lift (purely for aesthetics). Almost went with a 3.5/4 suspension lift but didn’t want to have to worry about drive line angles and everything thing else that comes with it.
