I think there are two layers of resale pain.

Tasteless mods plus whatever used hybrid batteries does. Maybe that's way more painful closer to MTBF.

When I added sliding windows (a hard top side window cracked), I kept the uncracked one from the passenger side in case the next owner hated the windows. Don't think I'd ever sell, but in a few decades, it will be a nice find.
