UConnect/Carplay update audio drops out

2024 Wrangler JL. After the latest Uconnect update about a week ago my CarPlay audio just keeps dropping out for a second or so playing music.
Ver FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD
Does not happen with FM or Sirius radio.

Which music app(s) do you use? I did have this happen to me in the past and it resolved itself after an iPhone app update. Still happens once in a while when I have poor cell signal.

Maybe try deleting your phone connection and setting it up again from scratch.

I noticed this today on the Jeep I just bought. Anyone have any resolutions yet?

can you opt to just to wired CarPlay?

Update! I called Uconnect support and they say there haven’t been any calls about this and to just wait for the next apple update. Also, it does not drop out when connected via USB

I've had the same issue for the last couple of months. I'm on the latest iOS release (18.1 as of writing this). It happens if the phone is connected to CarPlay either wired or thru BT.

It's an issue on Apple's end. I've been having something similar with wireless carplay across multiple vehicles.

I got an iOS update to 18.1.1 about 4:20 today and it seems better so far. Haven’t heard any skips since then.

Well, the update helped reduce the frequency of dropouts but it’s still happening.

Same thing here. Since last UConnect Firmware update (a week or two ago), CarPlay (even in iOS 18.1.1) cuts out briefly whenever I receive an email or a text message. This doesn't happen in our other cars, just the Wrangler. So far, my workaround has been to use Bluetooth audio instead of CarPlay, which still gives me access to the music on my iPhone but without the CarPlay interface.

Spotify will also work, displaying album art and letting you move forward and backward in a playlist, but you have to change playlists from your iPhone. Apple Music, on the other hand, lets you browse your albums, artists, songs, playlists from the Jeep screen. It's not as slick as the CarPlay interface, but functional and doesn't keep cutting out.
