Uconnect Box Update

When I got home tonight my radio prompt me to update the Uconnect Box, it took about 5 minutes.

Does any one know what is the Unconnect Box ?

It's the UConnect head unit or 'Box' which should have been changed before it was released as that's what it's referred to internally by the engineers. I can't say what exactly was in this update but it's for some priority fixes. There's a proper update coming that will tell you it will take 30 minutes, that should be the one where customers will notice changes.

Not everything and non-specifically there's alot of fixes for Android Auto & CarPlay to work more universally especially with the various ways they connect to the vehicle. Beyond that, the final version isn't done so anything that's in test right now may not be released.

There's some work with their branded App Marketplace of course. There should be some work on the SiriusXM Media interface as SXM changed the data they send and the current UConnect doesn't like them. Logging into your SXM account might actually work now! The cameras should look better and be more responsive. The data that it gets from the onboard monitoring systems should be more expansive and accurate ie. Battery, Temperatures, Fuel Economy, etc. There's some stuff with HD radio to make signals clearer, louder and offer more station data. Fixes for Offroad pages and more data available.

All or none of these things may show up. Lol. They code them, put them in test units and then in vehicles driven. At the end of the day, it's guys in suits that make the decisions not lab coats or muddy cargo shorts with oversized key fobs. The engineers want to give us the cool stuff but it's always what's priority and the easiest for the masses to understand.

I don't have them on my 2024 either I think you need to have navigation to have the trail maps..
