Uconnect 7" screen flicker

Just got my Jeep back from the dealer for steering TSB and screen flicker, tech saw it happening. They replaced the media input harness (includes the center console) and it began to flicker shortly after leaving the lot.

Can mark that as a non-solution. I'll probably hold off taking it to the dealer until there's a software update, though I won't hold my breath

I have an appointment on the Monday to have my Jeep checked for the steering TSB and while i'm there, will be showing them the flicker.....again.

Took mine in for the same issues, said it was due to dirty phone ports, or bad chords even though I've replicated the issue on three different phones, and purchased two new lightning cables. Dealership in MD stated they had replicated and fixed the issue by resetting the system and cleaning the ports, less than a mile off the lot, screen flicker more pronounced and frequent. Dropped the Jeep back off at the dealership yesterday, provided them the Jeep Cares/Uconnect ticket number along with the extension of the point of contact with jeep cares.

Has anyone made any progress on this issue? I told a dealer and they reflashed the RTT Display (?), I still have the issue unfortunately. Not really sure what Jeep Cares does, but has anyone been helped by any of them.

I had my Jeep at the dealer for a week and they said they couldn't replicate the issue, even after their peer site confirmed they had replicated it. I've submitted a video to them of it. Haven't been able to take the jeep back as my paper tags had expired and the dealer took over a week and a half to send out updated ones while the permanent tags come. Dropping it back off on monday night, going to take them for a test drive to demo the issues.

Long story short, no progress here, just games upon games with a 50K plus car purchase with less than 2k miles on it.

Do you know why they need to recreate the issue? If you have video evidence, timestamp, that should be enough. How are they trying to recreate the issue and are they using enhanced diagnostics when the issue is live. It seems like they're not taking your word for it even after showing evidence of the issue.

Not 100%, both dealerships here in MD stated they needed to replicate. One has told me they want to make sure because the stereo is an expensive piece to replace. His ā€œdiagnosticsā€ was we played four songs through my stereo guys phone, no issues. They had the car for a full week. I think that was ultimately the disappointing aspect for me. Not much urgency. He asked for a video, but havenā€™t heard back from them since sending on Monday night. Plan is to take them for a drive and live demo.

Update: Jeep is still with the dealer, video proof is not good enough now, want to replicate it in the system saying they will not replace or repair the stereo without having proof documented in their system showing an error code. Ourisman Clarksville MD, three weeks total time still no progress. Multiple calls to Jeep Cares with no call back at this time. Will update next week. Going to pick the jeep up and try to get videos from different phone types for further proof its not the phone. Lightning cables all replaced already.

Same issue when using Waze, google maps or Apple Navi I think it has something to do with the u connect. It doesnā€™t flicker for no e when Iā€™m using just the radio, only when the phone is connect..

The 7ā€ uconnect is fine under Bluetooth, once CarPlay or Android Auto is being used, it turns into a POS. Wishing aftermarket units werenā€™t an arm and a leg but Iā€™ve given up on trying to fix and bring to dealer. I guess ā€œitā€™s a Jeep thingā€ šŸ’©

2019 JLUR just experienced the flickering issue on my 7ā€ Uconnect screen while using CarPlay. Also tried both media ports same issue.

surprised this hasnā€™t been fixed (well maybe not that surprised) since the first posting back in 6/20.

Update: Took the jeep back two more times for the flicker, Ourisman Jeep in Clarksville MD acknowledged and observed the issue. Plugged it into the system and said no error codes are populating and that they cannot get approval to replace without that. Submitted a ticket through their engineering team for an exception but was denied due to a patch coming in Q1 2021. When asked if the patch corrected the issue of flickering screen, Dealership stated that they do not have access to the patch notes but were told by the engineering ticket process that they cannot make any changes until the new patch gets pushed. If it still exists after the push then they will re-evaluate. Not holding my breath since they weren't even able to say if the flickering fix was part of the patch.
