I feel stupid, but I didn't realize you were going down in gearing. How about 4.30 gearing? I think those are made for the D44, but don't quote me on it. Also, depends on how you use your rig.
The old school dana 44 has 4.27s. These M210/220 axles jump from 4.10 to 4.56 with nothing in between. Unless some aftermarket company did non-factory ratios I don't know abour.

There are 4.30s for the M220. Nitro Gear & Axle M220JL-430-NG

Interesting. They also make that for the M200 rear. But not really useful since they don't seem to have the matching front gears for either the M186 or M210.

I wonder if there is some supply issue or something because I did find a GPJL-4.30-M220 part number which is for the M186 and M220 kit and it does seem to be out there but not listed on Nitro's website. I'm sure the demand isn't exactly high but how many people need to buy 2.75 gears for a Ford 9 inch in 2024? Summit racing has 2.75-7.40 listed for the Ford 9 inch though...which is a crazy good selection but obviously the Ford 9 inch is a legacy axle with uses so varied it would boggle the mind.

I actually wouldn't mind 4.30s on my diesel with 37s. The 3.73s were great for the 35s but only adequate for 37s. I don't want to do 4.10 because it's such a small change. 4.56 is more than I want. 4.30 would be a good option.

I have 4.30 in a truck, front and rear, and they are kind of a sweet spot in the 33" - 35" range (I'm running 34" tires on that truck).

I recall a thread where someone in an emergency situation where a not readily available non standard gear set created problems. Having blown a rear end on an out of state week long hunt, only losing 3 days I wouldn’t want non standard.

I remember that thread. I think he was running 4.63 gears from Nitro.

I agree that having hard to replace parts is a risk.

4.88 and 5.13 are for the 3.6. The 2.0 needs less gear than the 3.6. The 392 is in a world of it's own.
The diesel doesn't really NEED anything but 3.73s. 4.10s on 38+ wake it back up, but it is fine without.
